Speaking at the opening ceremony of the boat racing tournament, Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong - said that the Hai Phong City Boat Racing Training Center is the venue for annual national boat races.
This is also the venue for the 31st Southeast Asian Games Rowing and Canoeing Tournament (SEA Games 31), the 2024 U19 Rowing and Canoeing Championship, and the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship, leaving many good impressions in the hearts of international friends.
As the host of the boat racing tournament, Hai Phong city has prepared carefully in terms of facilities, techniques and logistics, ensuring the best conditions for athletes and international delegations.
The Hai Phong Boat Racing Training Center has been comprehensively upgraded, the racing track system, reward platforms, LED screens, tarpaulins and functional areas have been installed synchronously, meeting international standards.
During the 4 competition days, athletes will compete in 20 events for men, women's singles, doubles, 4 boat and 8 man boat... under the management of 36 international referees and 65 Vietnamese referees.
Through the tournament, athletes have the opportunity to compete, develop their achievements, prepare the best athletes to participate in the 33rd SEA Games held in Thailand in December 2025, the 2026 Asian Games (ASIAD 20) in Japan and participate in the 2028 Olympic qualifiers in Los Angeles - USA.

The Asian Rowing Championship is the leading prestigious tournament in the Asian region.
