On the evening of November 15, at Hung Vuong Square, Bac Lieu Ward, Ca Mau Province, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau Province coordinated with the Vietnam National Industry - Energy Group and related units to organize the opening ceremony of the PetroVietNam Marathon - Ca Mau 2025 Cup.
The 2025 PetroVietNam Marathon - Ca Mau Cup is an open provincial-level race, attracting professional and amateur athletes from home and abroad living in Vietnam, with a total of up to 6,000 people. Of which, nearly 2,000 were "Runner Petrovietnam".
The tournament is brand- sponsored by the Vietnam National Industry - Energy Group (PetroVietNam). Competition activities include: 2km distance for children (Kid run) on the afternoon of November 15 and main distances of 5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km on the morning of November 16. All distances started and finished at Hung Vuong Square, Bac Lieu Ward, Ca Mau Province.
According to Mr. Ngo Vu Thang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, this year's tournament is associated with a series of activities of the 2nd Ca Mau Crab Festival in 2025, aiming to introduce the potential and strengths of the locality, while encouraging the movement of physical exercise and improving public health.
In addition to its sporting significance, the event is also an important cultural - tourism activity of the locality, with many propaganda programs, video clips, tours - tours and booths displaying Ca Mau specialties, contributing to promoting the image, people and products of the southernmost land of the Fatherland.
This year, the Ca Mau Marathon is associated with a series of volunteer, humane and sustainable activities in the province such as: Awarding STEM practice rooms, awarding scholarships to light up trust and participating in planting trees to restore forests. All converge in a common message: "A million steps - Light up faith, sow sustainable seeds".
Petrovietnam and the PVCFC Diamond Sponsor - Ca Mau Fertilizer supported the athletes to convert it into 600 VND to contribute to the Light Up Trust Scholarship Fund. The total resources contributed are up to 60 billion VND, equivalent to 100 million steps of kindness, towards the future of poor and studious students.
