On the afternoon of May 20, a press conference was held in Hanoi to announce the Vietnam Pickleball Championship - Hyundai Thanh Cong Cup 2025. This is a tournament co-organized by Tien Phong newspaper and the Vietnam Sports Department.
With a national scale and a systematic competition system, the Vietnam Pickleball Tournament 2025 is not only a healthy sports playground, but is also expected to become a milestone in the process of professionalizing Pickleball in the S-shaped country.
At the ceremony, journalist Phung Cong Suong - Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee shared: "The Vietnam Pickleball Awards 2025 includes 2 professional and movement events. The tournament not only creates a healthy and fair playground but also strictly complies with professional regulations on personnel and competition records.
We are committed to organizing the tournament in a professional and transparent manner, from the management, refereeing, communication... to create new standards for pickleball in the future".
According to information from the organizing committee, the Vietnam Pickleball Championship 2025 is expected to take place from July 4-6, 2025 at the Pickleball D-JOY court cluster (HCMC).
Athletes will compete in the following events:
Professional: Men (group 1 from 17 to 34 years old, group 2 from 35 years old); Women's applications (group 1 from 17 to 30 years old, group 2 from 31 years old); Men's doubles (group 1 from 17 to 34 years old, group 2 from 35 years old); Women's doubles (group 1 from 17 to 30 years old, group 2 from 31 years old); Men and women (Group 1: Men from 17 to 34 years old + Female from 17 to 30 years old, group 2 men aged 35 and older + Female from 31 years and older).
Movement: Men (group 1 from 17 to 34 years old, group 2 from 35 years old); Women (group 1 from 17 to 34 years old, group 2 from 35 years old); Men's doubles (group 1 from 17 to 34 years old, group 2 from 35 years old); Women's doubles (group 1 from 17 to 34 years old, group 2 from 35 years old); Couple men (group 1 from 17 to 34 years old, group 2 from 35 years old and older)
In particular, the Super Cup match only applies to men's and women's singles, including a match between 2 men's singles champions of 2 professional age groups (group 1 and group 2); a match between 2 women's singles champions of 2 professional age groups (group 1 and group 2).
Subjects participating in the Pickleball Championship 2025:
- Male and female athletes who are healthy enough, not violating the law, and not subject to competition ban (including foreign athletes).
- Athletes are only allowed to compete in one age group (athletes in the above age group can compete in a lower age group).
- Athletes who have competed in amateur events are not allowed to compete in professional events and vice versa.
- Each athlete is only allowed to compete for 1 team in the tournament.
