On the afternoon of August 25, information from the leader of Kim Hoa commune (Ha Tinh province) said that there had just been 2 accidents in the area when people were hanging up their roofs to prevent storm No. 5, causing 1 death and 1 serious injury.
Specifically, at 4:30 p.m. on August 24, Mr. H.H.Q (born in 1968, Kim Hoa commune) fell from the roof to the ground while reinforcing the roof. Although he was taken to Huong Son Medical Center for emergency treatment, Mr. Q. did not survive until 10:30 p.m. the same day.
At around 1:00 p.m. on August 25, Mr. T.D.T (residing in village 3, Kim Hoa commune) fell while tying a rope to prevent the roof from bloating and was hospitalized with a traumatic brain injury.
Previously, at around 5:00 p.m. on August 24, Mr. N.V.Q (born in 1985, Mai Ha village, Huong Son commune) also fell while tying up the roof and had to be hospitalized for emergency care.
Local authorities have visited and encouraged the families of the victims, and at the same time advised people to strictly follow safety measures when reinforcing their homes in dangerous weather conditions.
