On the competition day of August 22, the faces of the Vietnamese swimming team won 2 championships in the 4x1,500m mixed men's and women's relay event.
At the 4x1,500m mixed men's and women's relay championship, the Vietnamese swimming team competed with 4 athletes including Do Ngoc Vinh, Cao Van Dung, Nguyen Kha Nhi, Le Huynh Tu Uyen.
At the end of the competition, the Vietnamese relay team finished first with a time of 1 hour 13 minutes 20 seconds, winning a gold medal.
Finishing second, receiving a silver medal was the Thai relay team with a result of 1 hour 16 minutes 45 seconds.
Following that, the Vietnamese swimming team competed in the 4x1,500m men's and women's mixed relay for the young age group 14-18.
The coaching staff sent a team to compete including Tran Gia Phuc, Nguyen Vinh Thai Bao, Vo Thi Bao Ngoc, and Phan Thi Thuy An.
With their efforts, the young Vietnamese swimmers finished the competition in 1st place with a result of 1 hour 15 minutes 43 seconds. This is the first gold relay medal of the young faces mentioned above at the 2026 Southeast Asian Open Surface Championships.
The tournament will continue to compete until August 23. The Vietnamese swimming team participates with 9 athletes in this year's participation.
Due to training in China, top faces such as Nguyen Huy Hoang and Vo Thi My Tien did not participate in the 2026 Southeast Asian Open Surface Championship.
