According to information from the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism of Quang Nh province, Quang Ninh province and the Vietnam Football Federation have agreed to organize the first national women's football tournament for ethnic minorities in Quang Ninh.
The expected time is in November. The competition location is in Binh Lieu - a place that is famous nationwide for the San Chi ethnic women in traditional costumes performing enchanted football.
Women's football is a sport in the Soong Co Festival of the San Chi people in Huc Dong commune, the old Binh Lieu district.
Late afternoon, after returning from working as a housewives, the San Chi women in traditional costumes were enthusiastic on the football field.
In the old Huc Dong commune alone, there are 4 women's football clubs in Na ec, Po Dan, Luc Ngu, Khe Mo villages that regularly compete with each other and play friendly matches with ethnic minority women's football teams of neighboring communes.
Over the years, matches have become the focus of tourists' attraction because of their unique features - players wearing traditional dresses compete instead of shorts and shirts.
Later, ethnic minority girls in other places of Quang Ninh province also started playing football.
In 2024, for the first time, Quang Ninh province will organize the 2024 Quang Ninh Ethnic Minority Women's Football Tournament within the framework of the 2024 Binh Lieu Golden Season Festival, October 2024.
The tournament attracted 7 participating teams, players who are ethnic minority women from units of the old Binh Lieu district, Vo Ngai commune, Hoanh Mo commune, Luc Hon commune, Huc Dong commune, Binh Lieu town and the old Tien Yen district, Binh Lieu High School.
