On August 4, at the headquarters of the Chinese Football Association (CFA), the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the CFA signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation for the 2025-2028 period, aiming to promote comprehensive development between the two football regions.
VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan and CFA President Song Kai represented the two sides in signing the pen, marking an important step forward in sports cooperation between Vietnam and China.
The Memorandum of Understanding clearly states the commitment to increase exchanges of coaches, referees, technical experts, organize friendly matches, and coaching for the men's, women's, youth and futsal teams.
The two sides also coordinated to create conditions for clubs to participate in international tournaments and festivals; promote connections between the V.League and the Chinese Super League as well as the national futsal system of the two countries. VFF and CFA will share their experience in managing and operating professional football and facilities.

President Tran Quoc Tuan emphasized that the memorandum of understanding is a practical opportunity to develop youth football, women's football and futsal, these are the key areas of VFF in the coming time.
He also highly appreciated the support of the CFA in training and friendly matches for the Vietnamese teams in recent times. On this occasion, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan presented the Chairman of the CFA with a souvenir painting of the Turtle Tower - a cultural symbol of Hanoi.
For his part, CFA President Song Kai affirmed that the memorandum of understanding is not only meaningful to the football of the two countries but also contributes to strengthening the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China. He expressed his desire for the two sides to cooperate substantially, learn from each other and contribute to the development of Asian football.
To realize the cooperation content, the CFA will organize a number of international tournaments and invite Vietnamese teams to participate.
In particular, the Vietnam women's team will be invited to the International Women's Football Tournament in January 2026 to prepare for the Women's Asian Cup, while the Vietnam U22 team will participate in the U22 friendly tournament organized by the CFA in November this year.
The two federations also agreed to promote the referee exchange program to improve management capacity.
Immediately after the signing ceremony, VFF and CFA held a thematic workshop on football development, with the participation of leaders of the two federations and representatives of CFA professional departments.
The Vietnamese side presented a strategy for developing the national team, training and competition organization. The two sides agreed to implement cooperation in a flexible and practical manner.

The cooperation agreement is valid for 3 years and will automatically be extended by 2 years if there is no change, thereby creating a solid foundation for Vietnam - China football to continue to connect and develop in the context of the deep integration of continental football.
