Inter Miami's home match took place with an overwhelming game from the start. After a series of successful goals, Messi opened the scoring in the 39th minute with a curling shot from outside the penalty area after a pass from Baltasar Rodriguez, putting the home team ahead.
Entering the second half, Inter Miami continued to play enthusiastically. In the 52nd minute, Messi made a delicate assist for Jordi Alba to double the gap. Less than 10 minutes later, Luis Suarez scored the third goal with a beautiful volley, completely collapsing the Atlanta United defense.
Before the match ended, Messi completed his double in the 87th minute after a familiar combination with Alba, sealing a 4-0 victory for coach Rafael Mascherano's team.
With this double, Messi has made MLS history by becoming the first player to score at least two goals in nine games in an official season. The brilliant performance of the Messi Alba Suarez trio continues to help Inter Miami maintain their leading position as a candidate for the championship.
Inter Miami are currently third in the Eastern Conference with 62 points, equal to second-placed Cincinnati and only four points behind leaders Philadelphia. In the next round, Messi and his teammates will visit Nashville on October 19.
