The coaching staff of the Vietnamese badminton team said that Nguyen Thuy Linh and the players will move back home after completing competitions in China.
The Vietnamese badminton team has 8 players competing at the 2026 Asian Championships. However, no players reached the quarterfinals of their events. Nguyen Thuy Linh is the face with the best results because she entered the 2nd round of the women's singles event. However, she had to stop due to losing to world No. 1 player An Se Young (Korea) in the match.
The Vietnamese badminton team continues to train at Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports after the 2026 Asian Championship. In the immediate future, the players will focus on their expertise to prepare for some domestic tournaments, and then return to the international competition program.
In the rankings just announced by BWF, Nguyen Thuy Linh is still ranked 26th in the world women's singles. This year, Thuy Linh will be professionally prepared to compete in ASIAD 20 in September in Japan. This player did not succeed at the 2026 Asian Championships, so the coaching staff will learn from experience for Thuy Linh when she returns home.
The players of the Vietnamese badminton team will have some international competition programs in mid-May. Thuy Linh is expected to go to Malaysia to compete in mid-May.
