Vietnamese badminton has had many players compete in international tournaments last week but did not achieve the final championship result.

Players Le Duc Phat and Vu Thi Trang have been selected as seeds at the 2026 Italian Open International Badminton Tournament (closed on June 28, local time).

In the tournament, Duc Phat was the No. 1 men's singles seed. However, the player lost his first match in the men's singles event when he lost 1-2 to Karan Rajan Rajarajan (Denmark) and was eliminated.

In the women's singles event in Italy, Vu Thi Trang is the number 2 seed.

She reached the quarterfinals but lost 1-2 to Anwesha Gowda (India) and stopped regrettably. Also at the 2026 Italian Open, 2 young players Phan Phuc Thinh (men's singles), Le Ngoc Van (women's singles) competed but did not reach the semi-finals of the events.

At the same time, badminton player Nguyen Hai Dang participated in the 2026 US Open badminton tournament at the BWF World Tour Super 300 level. Despite focusing on competition, Hai Dang was still eliminated after the first match in the men's singles event.

Hai Dang has continued to Canada to participate in the 2026 Canada Open Badminton Tournament taking place from June 30 to July 5.

Hai Dang was drawn to meet Harry Huang (England) in the first match of the men's singles event.

Currently, Nguyen Thuy Linh does not compete internationally, but she has a professional accumulation training program in Thailand. After training in Thailand, Thuy Linh will compete in the Chinese Open Badminton Tournament in July.
