On the afternoon of October 13, the ASEAN Ministers' Conference on Sports continued its second session; focusing on important contents related to the largest sporting event in the region - SEA Games 33 and ASEAN para Games 2025.
The representative of Thailand reported in detail on the preparation for the 33rd SEA Games and the 2025 ASEAN para Games. According to the plan, the 33rd SEA Games will take place from December 9 to 20, 2025 in Bangkok, including 50 sports and 574 competition events. Meanwhile, the ASEAN para Games will be held in Nakhon Ratchasima Prefecture from 20-26.1/2026.

A prominent activity is the SEA Games parading ceremony, which will start from November 16, 2025, passing through 4 localities including Bangkok, Chonburi, Songkhla and Nakhon Ratchasima. The event was attended by ASEAN ambassadors in Bangkok to spread the message of friendship and solidarity in the region.
Thailand also introduced a new version of the mascot "The San" - the official symbol for both congresses. This mascot has a modern, easy-to-recognize design, expressing the spirit of integration, access for everyone and reflecting the cultural identity of Thailand.
The representative of Thailand affirmed that all preparations are still taking place on schedule and the country will organize the 33rd SEA Games Technical Session from October 17-19 to review expertise and receive opinions from ASEAN countries.
With the slogan "Inclusivity and Sustainability", Thailand expressed its determination to organize an iconic and inspiring congress.

In the presentation of Malaysia - the country holding the role of ASEAN Chair in 2025 - the representative of this country introduced the main orientations with the theme "inclusion and sustainable development", emphasizing the role of sports as an important tool for social development and regional community cohesion.
Malaysia proposed five key areas including: promoting gender equality in sports, encouraging a healthy and dynamic lifestyle, developing the ASEAN young generation through training and capacity building, enhancing regional cooperation in building a unified and sustainable sports environment, while promoting the role of sports in strengthening the identity and spirit of the ASEAN community.
In particular, Malaysia wishes to build an ASEAN Sports Heritage a long-term cooperation platform, linking sports with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
In his concluding remarks, ASEAN member countries all highly appreciated Thailand's active preparation and Malaysia's strategic vision. The delegates affirmed their commitment to continue to cooperate closely to promote the role of sports as a bridge to enhance peace, solidarity and sustainable development in the entire Southeast Asian region.
