On the afternoon of October 5, the U23 Vietnam team continued to have an active training session in the October gathering to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games.
Before starting the training session, current head coach Dinh Hong Vinh said: "Like the other two gatherings, I led the team when coach Kim Sang-sik was busy with the national team. Of course, the goal is still towards the 33rd SEA Games at the end of the year and the U23 Asian Cup finals in early 2026.
This time, U23 Vietnam will focus on the issue of passing the ball, the distance of the formation, and the space behind the defense. The coaching staff will have specific assessments".

According to the schedule, U23 Vietnam will have a training trip in the UAE this October. The whole team will have 2 friendly matches with U23 Qatar to compete, accumulate experience and check the players' performance.
"This is an important match for us. The goal is to achieve the highest achievement of the 33rd SEA Games gold medal, going deep into the finals of the U23 Asian Championship. Therefore, it is necessary to meet Qatar in the upcoming friendly series, in order to test, evaluate the potential of the players and find the best quality squad," said Mr. Dinh Hong Vinh.

In this gathering, in addition to the familiar overseas Vietnamese players Viktor Le (Hong Linh Ha Tinh) and Tran Thanh Trung (Ninh Binh), coach Kim Sang-sik also gave the opportunity to a new face, Vadim Nguyen (Da Nang).

Evaluating this player, the Acting Head Coach of U23 Vietnam said: "I highly appreciate the expertise of overseas Vietnamese players. Mr. Kim Sang-sik and the scouting team always interact and propose criteria to decide on the choice of additional factors for U23 Vietnam, specifically Vadim Nguyen.
As for Viktor Le, in the recent match against PVF-CAND, he had a slight problem with his young thigh after a collision with the opponent. The route from Ha Tinh to Hanoi has no flights, the roads are affected by floods, so the gathering is delayed. He was absent yesterday and was in the team today."
