Accordingly, middle blocker Le Thanh Thuy of the Vietnamese Women's Volleyball Team and center-back Dinh Quang Kiet of the Vietnam U23 Men's Football Team are the 2 players who take on the important role above.
The ASIAD 20 Organizing Committee requires each sports delegation to have 2 athletes participating in the flag-carrying role at the Opening Ceremony of the Games.
Le Thanh Thuy used to be in charge of holding the flag for the Vietnamese sports delegation at the opening of SEA Games 33 in Thailand in 2025.
Meanwhile, for the first time, Dinh Quang Kiet received this responsibility.
Thanh Thuy is currently a player of Ninh Binh Sports and Quang Kiet is a player of the Ho Chi Minh City Police men's football team.
ASIAD 20 will be officially held from September 19 to October 4 in Aichi-Nagoya (Japan).

At the send-off ceremony to participate in ASIAD 20 of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation, Head of Delegation Nguyen Hong Minh said that the professional preparation of many national teams has been completed.
