On the evening of December 31st, on his personal page, Pham Duc Hoa posted a video summarizing notable moments in his career, and confirmed that SEA Games 33 held in Thailand was the last tournament he competed in as a professional futsal athlete.
Joining futsal in 2012 after changing direction from 11-football, Pham Duc Hoa quickly affirmed his ability and became a pillar of Thai Son Nam HCMC club. With a solid playing style, good situation reading ability and clear tactical thinking, he made an important contribution to helping this team dominate the national futsal championship in the 2016-2021 period, before continuing to win more championships in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
At the national team level, Pham Duc Hoa is an important factor in the Vietnamese futsal squad participating in the 2016 and 2021 futsal World Cups. In both tournaments, the Vietnamese team both passed the group stage and reached the round of 16. Notably, his goal against the Russian team at the 2021 World Cup is considered one of the memorable milestones of Vietnamese futsal in the world arena.
Pham Duc Hoa's persistent contributions are recognized with many individual titles, most notably the Vietnam Futsal Golden Ball in 2023. After Tran Van Vu retired, he was trusted to be given the captain's armband at both Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City club and the national futsal team, demonstrating his leadership role and influence in the team.
Pham Duc Hoa's departure from his playing career leaves a large void for Vietnamese futsal, especially in the context that the team is in the force transfer phase. However, the imprints he left are considered an important foundation for the development of Vietnamese futsal in the coming years.
