The closing ceremony of the 33rd SEA Games will take place at Rajamangala National Stadium (Bangkok, Thailand), concluding more than two weeks of exciting competition at the largest sports festival in Southeast Asia.
This is an event that is eagerly awaited not only because of the official rituals of the Congress, but also because of the art performances imbued with the cultural identity of host country Thailand, along with the introduction from Malaysia - the host country of the 34th SEA Games in 2027.
After mixed opinions regarding the opening ceremony, the 33rd SEA Games Organizing Committee affirmed that it had learned from experience and carefully prepared for the closing ceremony. Dr. Kongsak Yodmani - Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), said that all stages of the organization were reviewed to ensure the ceremony took place solemnly, completely and in accordance with the spirit of the Congress.
One of the highlights is the art program with the theme "The Voice of Champions", featuring two famous Thai artists, Tah-U Pittaya Saechua and Kratae R- Si Siam. These performances are expected to honor the winning spirit, will to overcome difficulties and aspirations of the young generation of Southeast Asian athletes.
The ceremony of turning off the torch, lowering the SEA Games flag and handing over the Southeast Asian Games (SEAGF) flag to Malaysia was the most important part of the program. At the symbolic moment of transition, Malaysia will officially receive the right to host the 34th SEA Games, scheduled to be held in 2027.
According to Malaysian media, the host country of the 34th SEA Games will bring a short art performance to the closing ceremony of the 33rd SEA Games, with the participation of artists Mimi fly, Amir Jahari and Marsha Milan, along with about 60 dancers representing many ethnic communities. This is considered Malaysia's official " greeting" to regional friends.
Notably, at the same time as the flag-raising ceremony, many iconic projects in Malaysia are expected to be lit, including Bukit Jalil National Stadium and prominent landmarks in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Baru and Kuching. These works will be lit up with the colors symbolizing the national anthem of Malaysia, creating an effect synchronized with the atmosphere of the closing ceremony in Bangkok.
