On September 20, Nguyen Thi Huong and the Vietnamese canoeing team arrived in Aichi-Nagoya (Japan) to prepare for the official match.
At ASIAD 20, the coaching staff of the Vietnamese canoeing team registered Nguyen Thi Huong to participate in 2 events: C1 200m and C2 500m (competing with Diep Thi Huong).
Currently, the Vietnamese canoeing team expects this to be an event that can win a medal in Japan.
Previously, Vietnamese canoeing had never won a medal in previous Asian Games competitions.
Nguyen Thi Huong competed at ASIAD 19 held in China in 2023 but did not have a medal achievement.
However, after ASIAD 19, Nguyen Thi Huong won an official spot to compete in the 2024 Olympics in France.
Therefore, with ASIAD 20, the female athlete of Hai Phong Sports is very confident in improving her performance to concretize the goal of winning a medal.
If they win a medal at ASIAD 20, Nguyen Thi Huong and her teammates will go down in history as the first to achieve results for the Vietnamese canoeing team.
At ASIAD 20, the Vietnamese canoeing team registered a list of rowers to compete including Nguyen Thi Huong, Diep Thi Huong, Nguyen Hong Thai, Hien Nam, Huynh Cao Minh, Vu Le Thien Hai, Nguyen Minh Tuan, Hoang Thi Huong, Bui Mai Hanh, Hoang Thi Lam and Do Thi Thanh Thao.
The ASIAD 20 canoeing event will kick off from September 23.
