Today (January 21), on her personal page, rower Nguyen Thi Huong posted an article sharing information about her quitting training at Vinh Phuc unit.
The rower born in 2001 sent her thanks to teachers, friends and fans who have encouraged, accompanied and given her strength to achieve achievements over the years.
"Over the past two days, I have been following news sites and media networks that have written about my resignation from rowing in Vinh Phuc province because I have not received my bonus and nutrition money for 3 years in 2024. I see that some of the information written and commented on is not true to the actual content of the incident.
Today, I would like to officially clarify that for the 3 years from 2022 to 2024, I did not receive any domestic bonuses and the 2024 nutrition allowance is part of the Vinh Phuc province regime, unrelated to the bonus regime of the Department of Physical Education and Sports.
I hope my brothers, sisters, friends and the online community will understand and accompany me so that I have more motivation to practice and compete well to bring glory to Vietnamese sports," Nguyen Thi Huong shared.
As the Labor has reported, Nguyen Thi Huong has sent a letter to the Board of Directors of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Phuc Province; the Board of Directors of the Sports Training and Competition Center of Vinh Phuc Province;
The reason she gave was that she had not received the medal prize money from domestic competitions from 2022 to 2024, as well as the nutritional support money from the locality in 2024. In the application, she also said that she was old and her family circumstances did not allow her to continue pursuing her passion.
Currently, Nguyen Thi Huong is still a member of the Vietnam Rowing Federation. Mr. Nguyen Hai Duong - President of the Vietnam Rowing Federation - confirmed that this rower is still guaranteed all rights of the Federation and the team. All of Nguyen Thi Huong's upcoming national and international competition plans will not change.
