The BWF International Badminton Federation announced its rankings on September 30. Nguyen Thuy Linh dropped 1 place, down to 18th in the world.
Nguyen Thuy Linh has not participated in any tournament recently due to injury at the 2025 Masters International Badminton Tournament in China. She has now returned home and is recovering her physical strength at the training center of Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports.
The coaching staff of the Vietnamese badminton team said that when Thuy Linh regains her best physical condition, she will continue to compete in some international tournaments in the coming time. Due to injury, Thuy Linh will not participate in the 2025 National Badminton Tournament which ended in Gia Lai last weekend.
On the world rankings at the moment, tennis player Vu Thi Trang continues to drop 8 places to position 151. Vu Thi Trang is the second highest ranked Vietnamese female athlete in the current BWF rankings after Thuy Linh. The tennis player has just won the runner-up position in the women's singles of the 2025 National Tennis Tournament for Excellence.
For men, Nguyen Hai Dang holds the 64th position in the world. Currently, Hai Dang is participating in the Masters 2025 international badminton tournament held in the UAE from September 30 to October 5. According to the registration, Hai Dang is the only athlete from Vietnam participating in the competition. Meanwhile, tennis player Le Duc Phat continued to decline and was relegated to the world rankings of 100.
