Badminton player Nguyen Thuy Linh continues to hold the world ranking despite having to give up due to injury at the tournament in China.

The International Badminton Federation - BWF announced the rankings on September 23 and Nguyen Thuy Linh held the 17th position in women's singles. The location remains unchanged from last week.

Thuy Linh's most recent achievement was the women's singles runner-up at the 2025 Vietnam Open. She then attended the 2025 Masters in China but dropped due to injury.

Nguyen Thuy Linh will not participate in the 2025 National Badminton Tournament held in Gia Lai. At this time, Thuy Linh is the Vietnamese athlete with the highest position on the BWF rankings.

On the same ranking, veteran tennis player Vu Thi Trang dropped 5 places, ranking 143rd in the world. Vu Thi Trang has not had the best results in recent times. She competed in the 2025 Vietnam Open International Badminton Tournament but did not make it to the semi-finals.

For men, tennis player Nguyen Hai Dang dropped 3 places, down to 64th place. Hai Dang is the Vietnamese male athlete with the highest position in the BWF rankings. Le Duc Phat has dropped 1 place to 95th in the world at the moment.

The two tennis players are competing in the 2025 National Tennis Tournament for Excellence in Gia Lai. The coaching staff of the Badminton Team will send Hai Dang and Duc Phat to participate in a number of international tournaments in October and November to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games.
