The badminton department (Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports) plans to take player Nguyen Thuy Linh for a health check to know the extent of her injury when the player returns to Vietnam.
Nguyen Thuy Linh unexpectedly gave up at the 2025 Masters tournament in China due to injury in the first match of the women's singles event (September 17). Thuy Linh said that her feet and ankles have been feeling pain for the past few days and she cannot move normally. She consulted a doctor before going to China to compete and was warned to be cautious because she could suffer serious injuries.
The tennis player is an important face that the Vietnam Badminton Team is preparing for the 33rd SEA Games at the end of this year. Therefore, Thuy Linh will be carefully checked for the level of pain. Most likely, Thuy Linh will have to rest enough time to recover.
Nguyen Thuy Linh has participated in 2 consecutive tournaments of the 2025 Vietnam Open and the 2025 Masters. She won the women's singles runner-up position at the 2025 Vietnam Open in Ho Chi Minh City. At the moment, Thuy Linh is holding the 17th place in the world. The Vietnamese badminton team said that they will carefully calculate the international tournaments from now until Thuy Linh attends the 33rd SEA Games so that she can participate but ensure the best health. In October, Thuy Linh is expected to continue competing in the 2025 national championship.
