Tran Thi Thanh Thuy's journey in the Indonesian National Volleyball Championship (Proliga) ended sooner than expected when the Vietnamese striker said goodbye to Gresik Petrokimia club.
The team's homepage posted a farewell message to the captain of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team. In the farewell video to Thanh Thuy, the female player shared some noteworthy things.
"Thank you for the time I had here. I feel very happy and grateful to have had the opportunity to meet and compete with everyone. I hope everyone will stay healthy, strong and continue to fight for their goals. Wish everyone the best. Goodbye Gresik Petrokimia", Thanh Thuy expressed.
Under the post, many Vietnamese and international fans expressed regret over this breakup.
It is known that Thanh Thuy has gone to the airport to return to Vietnam.
Thus, Thanh Thuy has ended her journey of more than 1 month playing for Gresik Petrokimia. The previous contract signed between her and the Indonesian team was for 1 season.
Thanh Thuy has played 7 matches with Gresik Petrokimia, has 2 wins and is in 5th place on the Proliga rankings.
This is the second consecutive time this season that Thanh Thuy has ended her contract with a foreign team early. Previously, she also left the Turkish club Kuzeyboru ahead of schedule for various reasons.
Most likely, Thanh Thuy will be in the squad of VTV Binh Dien Long An in the first phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship at the end of March in Hanoi.
Currently, Vietnam's women's volleyball team only has one athlete competing abroad, that is middle blocker Tran Thi Bich Thuy, who is playing for the GS Caltex team in the Korean national championship.
