The image of the General Secretary of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) being suspended from appearing next to the President of FIFA has angered the Malaysian public.

The image of Malaysia Football Federation General Secretary Datuk Noor Azman Rahman - who has been suspended from work - appearing next to FIFA President Gianni Infantino during a recent visit to Malaysia has attracted public attention.

According to Malaysian press, Mr. Noor Azman has been suspended since October 17 to serve the investigation of the illegal naturalization of 7 players. However, in a series of photos circulating, he still appeared in the FIFA President's welcoming group, causing many to question the seriousness of this suspension decision.

In response to mixed reactions, FAM Acting Chairman Yusoff Mahadi spoke up to clarify. He said that the photo was taken on the sidelines of the event, not part of the official activities of FAM or FIFA and the presence of Mr. Noor Azman was only personal. He did not participate as a representative of FAM, Mahadi asserted.

Meanwhile, FAM is still waiting for the results from FIFA's Appeal Committee after filing an appeal in the case on October 15. According to legal advisor Serge Vittoz, the verdict is expected to be made before October 30, a time considered important for Malaysian football in an effort to clarify the naturalization of players.
