On the afternoon of June 20, Ho Chi Minh City I had a favorable start at the National Women's Football Championship - Thai Son Bac Cup 2026 when they won 5-0 against Ho Chi Minh City II.

At Thanh Long Stadium, coach Doan Thi Kim Chi actively kept some key players on the bench to ensure fitness for the long journey of the season. Despite creating an overwhelming game, TPHCM I had to wait until the 41st minute to score the opening goal. Cu Thi Huynh Nhu was the one who scored with an accurate finish, helping the city team take a 1-0 lead after the first half.

In the second half, TPHCM II still played hard and caused no small difficulties for their seniors. However, the difference in experience and squad quality gradually showed itself.

In the 70th minute, Dau Nguyen Quynh Anh doubled the score for TPHCM I. In the remaining minutes, K'Thua scored a double, while Phan Thi Trang contributed a goal, thereby sealing a 5-0 victory for the defending champion.

In the match taking place at Ha Dong stadium, Hanoi I also had a favorable opening match when they defeated Hanoi II with a score of 5-1.

Le Thi Trang opened the score for Hanoi I in the first half. Stepping into the second half, Nguyen Thi Linh's own goal helped Hanoi I increase the gap. Although Thanh Thao scored a goal to narrow the score for Hanoi II, this young team still could not create a surprise against a higher-rated opponent.

In the remaining time, Nguyen Thi Hang scored a double, and Pham Hai Yen scored another goal, thereby helping Hanoi I close the match with a 5-1 victory.

With this result, Ho Chi Minh City I and Hanoi I both had a favorable start in the race for the championship at the National Women's Football Championship - Thai Son Bac Cup 2026.
