Laos will face Thailand at 8:00 PM on July 25 in the next match of Group B of ASEAN Cup 2026. The Lao team entered the tournament with a young force with an average age of only 22.9 under the guidance of coach Vladica Grujic. Before the ASEAN Cup 2026, the team from the Land of the Million Elephants had nearly two weeks of training in Vietnam, successively winning against Hoang Anh Gia Lai 4-2, drawing 0-0 in the rematch and overcoming Thanh Nien TPHCM Club with a score of 2-1. In the opposite direction, Thailand continues to be considered one of the top candidates for the championship despite the absence of many stars such as Chanathip Songkrasin, Theerathon Bunmathan, Supachok Sarachat, Suphanat Mueanta or Ekanit Panya due to being busy serving the club.
