After careful consideration, head coach Tran Dinh Tien has selected 18 players to train the Vietnam Men's Volleyball Team in phase 2.
The faces gathered include Dinh Van Duy, Nguyen Ngoc Thuan, Pham Van Hiep, Tran Duy Tuyen, Truong The Khai, Phan Cong Duc, Cao Duc Hoang, Pham Thanh Tung, Hoang Xuan Truong, Nguyen Thanh Hai, Trinh Duy Phuc, Tran Anh Tu, Nguyen Xuan Duc, Pham Quoc Du, Huynh Trung Truc, Duong Van Tien, Nguyen Van Quoc Duy and Quan Trong Nghia.
Among them, the defending national champion team Border Defense MB has 5 players: Van Duy, Ngoc Thuan, Van Hiep, Duy Tuyen and The Khai while the national runner-up team The Cong Tan Cang has 3 faces: Cong Duc, Duc Hoang, Thanh Tung. Blocker Pham Thanh Tung was called up to the national team for the first time.
The training session will start from October 25 at Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports. This is an important training program towards the 33rd SEA Games of the Vietnam Men's Volleyball Team.
Compared to the first training session, the coaching staff did not call up players such as Che Quoc Lo Vit, Pham Thoai Khuong or Pham Xuan Sinh.
According to the plan, the whole team will train until December before head coach Tran Dinh Tien reduces the number of players to officially participate in the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand. The team's goal at the 33rd SEA Games is to strive for medals.
