The Vietnam Volleyball Federation and the coaching staff of the Vietnam Men's Volleyball Team are reviewing the force to decide on the selection of players to coach in the coming time.
The draw for the 33rd SEA Games men's volleyball (home) has helped head coach Tran Dinh Tien and his team enter Group A quite easily. We will play against host teams Thailand, Singapore and Laos. Group B will be a group of deaths with Indonesia, Cambodia, the Philippines and Myanmar.
When developing a professional plan in early 2025, coach Tran Dinh Tien and members of the coaching staff aim to achieve the highest results at the 33rd SEA Games.
Through the draw results, experts assess that the Vietnam Men's Volleyball Team will be professionally favorable. However, coach Tran Dinh Tien once expressed: All teams participating in the SEA Games are preparing carefully. Therefore, not only the Vietnamese team, but every team is very cautious.
Two years ago, Mr. Tien was the head coach of the Vietnam Men's Volleyball Team at the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia. Vietnam players passed the group stage but lost to Indonesia in the semi-finals. In the third-place match, the Vietnam men's volleyball team won 3-0 against Thailand and won the bronze medal.
This year, the Thai team is the host of the 33rd SEA Games, so they are determined to win the No. 1 position. However, the Vietnam Men's Volleyball Team is not lacking in the desire to change the color of the medal achievement at the 33rd SEA Games.
Vietnam men's volleyball (home) has reached the finals 3 times through previous participation in the SEA Games. In 2007, we beat Thailand in the semi-finals and reached the SEA Games finals for the first time. Unfortunately, the Vietnam men's volleyball team lost to Indonesia in the final match, receiving a silver medal.
At the 2015 SEA Games in Singapore, the Vietnam Men's Volleyball Team lost to Thailand in the final, continuing to have the runner-up position. At the 2022 SEA Games held in Vietnam, the Vietnam Men's Volleyball Team had the opportunity to touch the gold medal but continued to lose to the Indonesian team.
We understand the pressure of playing against teams in Southeast Asia. Competition is never easy, so the coaching staff always tries to keep the players in the best spirit and adhere to professional tactics, coach Tran Dinh Tien discussed when the Vietnam Men's Volleyball Team participated in the 2025 SEA V.League.

This year, through the two stages of the 2025 SEA V.League, Vietnamese players have accumulated significant expertise when competing directly with opponents Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Cambodia.
Notably, the Vietnam men's volleyball team beat Thailand 3-1 in the first leg of the 2025 SEA V.League and won 3-2 in the second leg.
The 8 teams participating in the men's volleyball (home) event of the 33rd SEA Games are determined to achieve the highest results. Fate has never smiled on the Vietnam Men's Volleyball Team in the finals.
For the 33rd SEA Games, Mr. Tien once said: "We will prepare with the most concentration so that the players can complete the assigned tasks".
