Pre-match information
The Vietnam women's volleyball team will face Germany in the second round of Group G of the 2025 World Championship.
Before that, in the opening match, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team lost 1-3 to Poland. However, this was a very commendable match for the Vietnamese women's team when they had a historic set against the team currently ranked 3rd in the world.
Facing Poland fiercely, Thanh Thuy and her teammates were not at all confused. The whole team brought an impressive performance with a strong competitive spirit, not afraid of any hitter from the opponent. Notably, Vi Nhu Quynh replaced Bich Tuyen to bring home 20 points for the home team and marked with an aggressive and diverse playing style.
On the other side, Germany beat Kenya 3-0 (25-22, 25-8, 250) in the opening match. However, this was not an easy victory for the European team. Captain Camilla Weitzel assessed that the Kenyan team had brought many surprises to the German team because the two teams had not met before.
Looking forward to the match against Vietnam, coach Bregoli said: "We will focus on each match and always have to try our best, because, as I said, there are no easy matches in the world tournament", coach Bregoli shared before the match against Vietnam women's volleyball.
The German women's volleyball team is currently ranked 11th in the world, 11 places ahead of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team. The country has participated in 17 World Championships, their best result to date is 4th place in 1974 and 1986. Earlier this year, Germany finished 7th in the Nations League.
The German team will rely heavily on the middle blocker and 25-year-old captain Camilla Weitzel, libero Anna Pogany, the main attackers being Lina Alsmeier, Lena Stigrot and middle blocker Marie Scholzel.
