Thailand beat Sweden 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-22) and is sure to qualify for Group A at the 2025 World Volleyball Championship.
In this group, the Netherlands beat Egypt 3-1. After two matches, Thailand temporarily leads while the Netherlands is in second place. Sweden and Egypt have run out of chances to continue. The match between Thailand and the Netherlands on August 26 will determine the top spot in the group.
Group B in Phuket (Thailand) also determined that the two teams that will advance to the next round (due to one match) are Italy and Belgium. In the second match on the evening of August 24, Italy beat Cuba 3-0, Belgium beat Slovakia 3-0. Italy and Belgium won all two matches, so the match on the afternoon of August 26 between them will determine the top spot in the group.
Meanwhile, Group C competed in Chiang Mai (Thailand) recording Brazil's 3-2 win over France and securing the number one position to enter the next round. The French team will play the final match against Greece to decide their ticket.
In Group D, the US team won 3-1 Argentina while the Czech Republic beat Slovakia 3-1 in the second match. Currently, the US team is at the top of the group, Argentina is second in the group. The Czech Republic and Argentina are competing for the remaining spot to continue to the next round.
On August 25, the teams in groups E, F, G, H will compete in their second round. On this competition day, the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team will meet the German team at 5:00 p.m. in Phuket (Thailand).
