The World Beach Handball Tournament is held from June 23 to June 28. The World Federation of Handball has officially announced the schedule.
This year's tournament is held in Zagreb (Croatia) with men's and women's events. We participate in the women's beach handball event and the spot won from the 2025 Asian Championship.
The women's beach handball event has 16 teams qualified to participate in the 2026 World Championship finals including Norway, Greece, Brazil, USA, Argentina, Denmark, Philippines, Benin, Germany, Netherlands, Vietnam, Uruguay, Spain, Cook Islands, Puerto Rico and Croatia (host).
According to the draw, the Vietnamese women's beach handball team is in Group A with Germany, the Netherlands and Uruguay. Group B includes Spain, Croatia, Cook Islands, and Puerto Rico.
Group C includes Norway, Greece, Brazil, USA. Group D includes Argentina, Denmark, Philippines, Benin.
The Vietnamese women's beach handball team will play against the German team at 12 noon (local time) on June 23.
Next, we will play against the Netherlands team at 8 pm on the same day. The last match in the group stage against Uruguay of the Vietnamese women's beach handball team will be held at 10 am on June 24.
The World Handball Federation stipulates that at this year's tournament, teams compete in the group stage in a round-robin format and select 3 teams with the best results in each group to enter the second round of the group stage (6 teams in each group).
After round 2, the 4 best teams from each group will enter the quarterfinals to compete for a semi-final and final spot.
The Vietnamese women's beach handball team is training 16 players and will shorten the list before heading to Croatia to compete.
