According to AFF's announcement on March 9, the Cambodian futsal team will not participate in the 2026 Southeast Asian Futsal Championship as initially planned. After this change, the organizers adjusted the tournament schedule.
Previously, Cambodia was in Group B along with Indonesia, Australia, Malaysia and Brunei. After this team withdrew, Group B was left with 4 teams, equal to the number of teams in Group A. Therefore, AFF decided to maintain the previous draw results and not conduct a redraw.
Accordingly, Group A includes Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar and Timor-Leste. Meanwhile, Group B has the participation of Indonesia, Australia, Malaysia and Brunei.
According to the adjusted schedule, the 2026 Southeast Asian Futsal Championship will take place from April 6th to 12th at Nonthaburi Gymnasium (Thailand). The teams will play a single round-robin in the group stage from April 6th to 8th to determine the top two teams in each group to the semi-finals, taking place on April 10th. The third-place match and final are expected to be held on April 12th.
In the group stage, the Vietnamese futsal team will successively meet Myanmar on April 6, Timor-Leste on April 7 and host Thailand on April 8. The two teams with the best results in each group will win the right to enter the semi-finals, continuing to compete for a place in the final of the tournament.
