Before moving to Thailand, the Vietnamese women's futsal team just completed an important training phase in Japan and had two quality friendly matches with Bardral Urayasu women's futsal club - one of the teams with high professional qualifications in Japan.
The 2026 Southeast Asian Women's Futsal Championship gathers 7 top women's futsal teams in the region, including: Thailand (8th in the world), Vietnam - defending champion (11th in the world), Indonesia (18th in the world), Malaysia (21st in the world), Myanmar (38th in the world), Australia (66th in the world) and the Philippines (69th in the world).
According to the draw results, the Vietnamese women's futsal team is in Group B with opponents Myanmar, Philippines and Australia; Group A includes host Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia.
With careful preparation, especially the training and sparring stage in Japan, the Vietnamese women's futsal team is expected to continue to maintain stable form, promote the bravery of the Southeast Asian champion and SEA Games 33, thereby aiming for the goal of achieving the highest results at the tournament.
The 2026 Southeast Asian Women's Futsal Championship will take place from February 24 to March 2, 2026 at Terminal Hall, Terminal 21 Shopping Center, Nakhon Ratchasima province (Thailand).
