Regarding the journey in the group stage of the Vietnamese women's futsal team, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang said: "Each match is difficult in its own way, depending on the nature of each match.
Currently, our squad is a combination of experienced players and mostly young players with no international experience. However, they have tried their best to overcome each match.
The most difficult match for the Vietnamese women's futsal team was the opening match against Myanmar when the players did not get into the rhythm well.
The Vietnamese women's futsal team is the team facing the tightest schedule, as the players have to play 5 matches in 5 consecutive days.
Although coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang has proactively made adjustments, it is difficult for the players to ensure the best condition.
“When we knew the match schedule, the coaching staff made calculations to help the players maintain their best physical condition. We calculated each match and each time to rotate the players to help them maintain their physical condition.
However, with the competition density like this tournament, something the women's futsal team has never experienced, it is very difficult for our players to ensure their physical condition. Even male players cannot handle it, let alone girls, whose physique and physical condition are much weaker," Mr. Hoang shared.
At the international futsal tournament in Thailand not long ago, the Vietnamese women's futsal team faced the Thai women's futsal team in a match considered the "final".
The 2-2 draw helped the Vietnamese women's futsal team win the championship.
Through observation, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang said that the opponent has made some changes in the 2024 Southeast Asian women's futsal tournament.
“We beat Thailand to win that tournament, so I think they will be more cautious and calculating when they meet the Vietnamese women's futsal team again in the final of the 2024 Southeast Asian women's futsal tournament,” he said.
The coaching staff has been watching and seeing that their players have developed more, with many good, quality players. Their attacks are also more diverse. We have also considered and have a plan to confront Thailand."
Regarding the chances of winning the final match, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang said that it will be divided 50-50 for each team. “The team that has better rhythm, better mentality, and controls the situations in the match will have the advantage to win,” Mr. Hoang assessed.
The final match of the 2024 Southeast Asian women's futsal tournament between the Vietnamese women's futsal team and the Thai women's futsal team will take place at 6:00 p.m. today (November 21).
