On the afternoon of November 17, the Vietnamese women's futsal team had their opening match of the 2024 Southeast Asian women's futsal tournament against the Myanmar women's futsal team. This was the second match for the Myanmar women's futsal team.
The Vietnamese women's futsal team was rated higher in this match. Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang and his team only needed 3 minutes to break the deadlock when captain Thanh Hang unleashed a powerful shot from a pass back from Bui Thi Trang.
Despite conceding a goal, the Myanmar players were not discouraged and equalized in the 10th minute.
Five minutes later, Sett Nwe Ni had an accurate rebound, putting Myanmar ahead for the first time, 2-1.
In the second half, the Vietnamese team came back strongly and did not take long to find a goal. After 2 minutes, Phuong Anh leveled the score 2-2 with a shot from outside the midfield area after Thanh Ngan's precise throw-in.
In the 26th minute, Bien Thi Hang scored the third goal for Vietnam with a dribble from midfield and a straight shot from the center.
Myanmar tried hard in the following minutes but could not find a goal, with the most notable situation being a direct face-off with the opponent, but goalkeeper Thuy Linh made an excellent save.
In the next situation, Tran Thi Lan Anh earned a 6m penalty when the Myanmar goalkeeper committed a foul in the penalty area. Thanh Ngan did not miss the opportunity, scoring to raise the score to 4-2.
In the 39th minute, K'Thua sealed a 5-2 victory for the Vietnamese women's futsal team with a decisive shot.
In the next round, the Vietnamese women's futsal team will face Indonesia at 3:00 p.m. on November 18.
