In this training session, coach Diego Giustozzi continues to put his faith in the pillars that have affirmed his ability and experience in international competition, thereby maintaining a stable framework for the team.
In addition, the team welcomed the return of two experienced players Tran Thai Huy and Ngo Ngoc Son. Both, along with Nguyen Minh Tri and Pham Duc Hoa, are faces that have made great contributions to the historical journey of helping Vietnam futsal participate in the 2016 World Cup for the first time. However, according to the latest information, ala Ngo Ngoc Son, for personal reasons, missed the 33rd SEA Games. Coach Diego Giustozzi has called up young talent Nguyen Hoang Quan from Thai Son Nam HCMC to replace him.

Notably, coach Giustozzi also gave the opportunity to rookie Nguyen Tien Hung, a promising young player who has grown up from Thai Son Nam training center in Ho Chi Minh City. This player has just been honored as the Best Player of the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City U20 Open Futsal Tournament and is expected to increase competitiveness, bringing a new vitality to the team in the preparation period for the 33rd SEA Games.
Before this training session, the Vietnam futsal team showed impressive form in the 2026 Asian futsal qualifiers, with three wins against Lebanon, China and Hong Kong (China). The team won Group E with an absolute score, scoring 20 goals and conceding only 3 goals.

According to the plan, the Vietnam futsal team will station in Ho Chi Minh City for training until December 10, 2025, before leaving for Thailand to attend the congress. The men's futsal event at the 33rd SEA Games has 5 teams including Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Myanmar, competing in a round-robin to determine the final rankings.
