The event takes place before the whole team departs for Australia to participate in the final round of the 2026 Asian Women's Football Championship.
The ceremony was attended by Ms. Renee Deschamps - Australian Charge d'Affaires in Vietnam; Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hoa - Director of the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism); Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports. On the side of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), there were Vice President Nguyen Xuan Vu, Standing Member of the Executive Committee Nguyen Quoc Hoi, General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu, along with the coaching staff and players of the Vietnamese women's team.

Speaking at the party, Ms. Renee Deschamps congratulated the Vietnamese women's team on winning the right to participate in the final round of the 2026 Asian Women's Football Championship, and emphasized the role of sports in connecting people and strengthening cooperative relations between Australia and Vietnam.
The interim ambassador of Australia expressed pride in welcoming the Vietnamese women's team to compete at home, and at the same time expressed confidence in the spirit of solidarity and strong development of Vietnamese women's football in the regional arena.

Representative of the Vietnamese sports sector, Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh sent his thanks to the Australian Embassy for organizing a meaningful meeting, showing concern for women's football and Vietnamese sports.
He affirmed that the participation of the Vietnamese women's team in the Asian finals is a common pride, when the athletes not only compete for the national colors but also bring the image, bravery and aspiration to reach international level of Vietnamese sports.
He also highly appreciated the increasingly close cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Australia, especially in supporting training and competition for Vietnamese sports teams.

On behalf of VFF, General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu respectfully thanked the warm and thoughtful reception from the Australian Embassy.
He said that in the important milestones of Vietnamese women's football, from the first time participating in the 2023 Women's World Cup to the journey towards the 2026 Asian finals, the Vietnamese women's team always receives valuable companionship and encouragement from the Government and the Australian Embassy.

The party closed with a glass-raising ceremony to congratulate, showing the readiness of the Vietnamese women's team ahead of one of the most important tournaments of Asian women's football.
The program atmosphere became more exciting with exchange activities, learning about Australia - Vietnam culture and information about the 2026 Asian Women's Football Championship.

The final round of the 2026 Asian Women's Football Championship hosted by Australia will take place from March 1st to 21st, 2026, gathering 12 of the best women's teams in the continent, competing in the cities of Perth, Gold Coast and Sydney.
