Vietnamese women's team goes to China for training to prepare for the Asian tournament

On February 7, the Vietnamese women's team departed for China for training, heading towards the final round of the 2026 Asian Women's Championship held in Australia.

Under the guidance of head coach Mai Duc Chung, the Vietnamese women's team departed from Noi Bai International Airport and arrived at the Shenzhen Youth Football Training Center at about 3:00 PM on the same day (Vietnam time). According to the plan, the whole team will train here from February 7 to 14. 2.

The list to Shenzhen includes 26 players. Two cases that did not participate in the training trip are Nguyen Thi Kim Yen and Ho Thi Thanh Thao. Among them, Kim Yen has health problems and is being treated, it is expected to take about a month to be able to return to high-intensity training. Thanh Thao was injured during training, is currently being monitored for recovery and is expected to return when the team gathers in Hanoi.

Right in the afternoon of February 7, coach Mai Duc Chung's students entered the first training session to get acquainted with the weather conditions, fields and training environment in Shenzhen. This stage is considered to be of great significance in improving fitness, perfecting playing style and strengthening the cohesion between the lines.

During the training period, the Vietnamese women's national team is expected to play two friendly matches with the Chinese women's national team on February 10 and February 13. This will be an opportunity for the coaching staff to review the force, assess player performance and adjust tactics before the 2026 Asian Championship Finals.
