Responding to the media before the training session, head coach Cristiano Roland shared: I know that I have been given the opportunity by the club's leadership, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has trusted and given me responsibility. For me, when I am playing football, I have to always live with pressure. That is why I feel more strong and motivated to give my all. I am proud to lead a new generation of players in Vietnamese football.
The Brazilian added that the important thing in the early stages of working with a young team is to truyen the competitive spirit and tactical thinking.
"The result is what everyone wants, but for a new group of players, it is important to convey the spirit and playing style. Of course, that will take time. I feel happy, proud and ready to continue work with the highest determination, said coach Cristiano Roland.
Evaluating the current generation of players, coach Cristiano Roland said: "This is a new team, although there are a few players born in 2009 who have been called up before. I will continue to apply the familiar working method, which is dedication, hard work and giving them confidence. In the context of not having much time, we need to have quick but effective assessments.
Although they have just joined the team, the U16 Vietnam players have left many positive signals for the coaching staff.
"Right from the first training session, the children showed the spirit of serious training and great motivation. The body of this player was somewhat superior, but what I was more concerned about was the spirit of competition, the ability to integrate and adapt. The most important thing is to transmit the trust so that the children will promote their full potential. I hope the players will continue to learn, develop and contribute to the team," Cristiano Roland coach.
According to the plan, the U16 Vietnam team will maintain daily training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. On May 23, the whole team will leave for Hohhot city (Inner Mongolia, China) to participate in the 2025 CFA Team China U16 International Tournament, taking place from May 28 to June 1, 2025.
