On the afternoon of July 24, the first two quarter-final matches of the final round of the National U17 Championship - Red Dragon Cup 2026 took place excitingly, thereby determining the first two teams to participate in the semi-finals are U17 Da Nang and U17 Hue.
At Ham Rong Stadium, U17 Da Nang created a dramatic comeback to defeat U17 Ho Chi Minh City with a score of 4-3.
U17 TPHCM entered the game confidently and opened the score in the 14th minute thanks to Nguyen Anh's goal. However, U17 Da Nang quickly responded with goals from Dinh Giang (minute 20) and Van An (minute 38), closing the first half with a 2-1 lead.
In the second half, U17 TPHCM strongly rose up. Quang Hung and Phu Ngoc scored in the 63rd and 68th minutes respectively, helping the Southern team take a 3-2 lead.
However, U17 Da Nang still showed bravery at the right time. Dinh Giang completed a hat-trick with two more goals in the 75th and 82nd minutes, sealing a 4-3 victory and bringing his team to the semi-finals.
In the remaining quarter-final match at Pleiku stadium, U17 Hue surprised by drawing 1-1 with U17 The Cong Viettel after 90 minutes of official play.
Against a higher-rated opponent, U17 Hue played disciplinedly, bringing the match to a penalty shootout. From the 11m spot, the Ancient Capital team won 6-5 to write their name into the semi-finals.
Thus, U17 Da Nang and U17 Hue are the first two teams to participate in the semi-finals of the National U17 Championship - Red Dragon Cup 2026. The remaining two tickets will be determined after the quarter-final matches between U17 Hanoi vs U17 PVF-CAND and U17 PVF vs U17 Song Lam Nghe An, taking place at 3:00 PM on July 25th.
