Vietnam U17 women's team ends training in Japan, heading to the Asian tournament

Vietnam U17 women's team returned home on April 13th after a training and friendly match in Japan, closing an important preparation phase for the 2026 Asian Championship finals.

During their stay in Japan, Vietnam U17 women's team quickly stabilized their lives, adapted to weather and field conditions, and maintained appropriate training intensity to improve physical fitness as well as complete tactical content.

The coaching staff focused on adjusting the playing style, strengthening coordination and organizing attacks for young players.

Notably, the Vietnam U17 women's team had 3 friendly matches with quality opponents. In the first match, the team lost 0-5 to Fujieda Junshi High School.

After that, U17 Vietnam women's team drew 0-0 against Iwata Higashi High School in a fairly balanced match. In the final match, the coaching staff's students continued to show progress when they drew 2-2 against Aichi Toho University, thereby showing positive signs about their ability to organize their playing style and fighting spirit.

According to the plan, after returning to the country, the team will continue to train at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center for about 2 weeks to complete the final preparations before the important upcoming tournament.

Next, the Vietnam U17 women's team will depart for China to participate in the 2026 AFC U17 Women's Championship Finals, taking place in Suzhou city from May 1.

At this tournament, Vietnam U17 women's team is in Group A with opponents including host China, Thailand and Myanmar. This is considered a highly competitive group, promising to bring many challenges but also an opportunity for young players to accumulate experience and affirm their abilities in the continental arena.
