U17 Vietnam finalizes the list for the 2026 U17 Southeast Asian Championship

On the afternoon of April 10, U17 Vietnam officially finalized the list of 26 players to participate in the 2026 U17 Southeast Asian Championship in Indonesia.

Notably, striker Nguyen Le Quang Khoi - son of former national player Nguyen Quang Hai - is present in this force.

According to the assessment of head coach Cristiano Roland, Quang Khoi is a player with development potential and can show positive professional qualities in the training process with the team. However, the coaching staff also expects the young striker to continue to strive and improve further to improve competitiveness and contribute to the team.

The Brazilian coach said that U17 Vietnam possesses many players with good professional quality, capable of creating breakthroughs in competition. Compared to previous generations, the current squad shows clear progress in individual skills as well as tactical coordination ability.

The 2026 Southeast Asian U17 Championship takes place from April 11 to April 23 in Indonesia with the participation of many youth teams in the region. According to the draw results, U17 Vietnam is in Group A with opponents U17 Indonesia, U17 Malaysia and U17 Timor-Leste.

According to the schedule, coach Cristiano Roland and his team will play against U17 Malaysia on April 13, then successively face U17 Timor-Leste (April 16) and host U17 Indonesia (April 19). According to the tournament format, the top 3 teams in each group and a second-placed team with the best results will win the right to enter the semi-finals.

The tournament is considered an important opportunity for U17 Vietnam to continue reviewing the force, accumulate international competition experience and aim for long-term goals in the national youth team system.
