Before the cheers of home fans, U19 Indonesia proactively pushed up the squad and controlled the game from the first minutes. However, the home team encountered many difficulties against the tightly organized defense of U19 Myanmar.
The first notable opportunity belonged to Arkhan Kaka in the 35th minute when this striker headed the ball against the post. However, the striker of U19 Indonesia did not have to wait too long to put his name on the scoreboard.
In the 39th minute, from a long pass from a teammate, Arkhan Kaka accelerated past the last defender on Myanmar's side before performing a technical lob over goalkeeper Myint Nyo's head, opening the score for the home team.
Stepping into the second half, U19 Indonesia continued to maintain pressure and control most of the ball. Meanwhile, U19 Myanmar tried to find counter-attack opportunities but did not create many really dangerous situations.
In the 78th minute, goalkeeper Myint Nyo's mistake cost the away team. In an effort to clear the ball, the U19 Myanmar goalkeeper put the ball against substitute striker Dimas. This striker easily put the ball into the empty goal to increase the score to 2-0.
In the 87th minute, Dimas continued to make his mark when receiving a pass in the penalty area and finishing with his left foot in a narrow angle, sealing a 3-0 victory for U19 Indonesia.
With this result, U19 Indonesia has a favorable start in the journey to defend the regional championship. The victory also helps the island nation team put pressure on competitors in the group, including U19 Vietnam.
