As a player who made many impressions at the U16 national team level, Thao Nguyen expressed her feelings when she continued to wear the national U19 women's team jersey.
For each player, wearing the national team jersey is a great honor and pride. This is also an opportunity for me to learn, rub shoulders and express myself. I will try my best not to lose the trust of the coaching staff and fans, Thao Nguyen shared.
Talking about the current training atmosphere, Thao Nguyen said that the whole team always practices with a very serious and united spirit. She said: "We always support and talk to each other in training. The coaching staff also regularly reminds the whole team to focus highly, as well as give dedicated instructions so that we can improve our skills every day".
"The goal of the whole team is to play at all costs, overcome each match, and bring pride in the national women's team jersey. For my part, I will strive to improve my physical strength, personal techniques, competitive spirit, review video tapes, and absorb opinions from the coaching staff as well as teammates to improve myself more, affirmed the young female player of the Thai Nguyen Sports Training and Competition Center.
Evaluating the opponents in the region, Thao Nguyen said: "Southeast Asian teams are making clear progress. However, if the whole team shows good form and maintains solidarity, we can completely achieve the set goals".
In particular, playing at home amidst the support of spectators is a big advantage for the U19 women's team. "This will be the motivation and energy for the whole team. We will try our best to fight back that affection, Thao Nguyen said.
Vietnam U19 Women's U19 is focusing on training from May 12 to June 6 at Thanh Long Sports Center (HCMC) to prepare for the 2025 Southeast Asian U19 Women's U19 tournament, taking place from June 9 to June 18 in HCMC.
In this year's tournament, U19 Vietnam women's team is in Group A with opponents Myanmar, Laos, Timor-Leste. Meanwhile, Group B includes Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia.
