The additional roster includes goalkeepers Nguyen Bao Ngoc (Song Lam Nghe An), Dau Hong Phong (Hanoi FC), Nguyen Van Khanh (Hong Linh Ha Tinh), Tran Gia Bao (Hoang Anh Gia Lai FC); along with players Dao Quang Anh, Nguyen Quoc Khanh (PVF-CAND) and the trio Le Huy Viet Anh, Nguyen Van Bach, Hoang Trong Duy Khang (PVF). These are all familiar faces at the national youth team level, in which many players have participated in the U17 Vietnam team participating in the 2025 AFC U17 Championship.
Notably, overseas Vietnamese goalkeeper Aaron Tu Vinh Napierala was also given the opportunity to participate in this training camp. Born in 2007, his father is Canadian, his mother is Vietnamese and holds dual citizenship. Before returning to Vietnam for a trial at Ho Chi Minh City Club in 2024, the 1m83 tall goalkeeper was trained in Canada and Spain, receiving many positive reviews from the coaching staff.
In parallel with the addition of personnel, the coaching staff of the Vietnam U19 team also conducted the first troop streamlining when 12 players temporarily did not continue to train with the team. However, these players are still under monitoring and may be recalled in the next gatherings.
The force adjustment is part of the two-stage plan of the coaching staff to create a positive competitive environment, and at the same time help assess and select the most suitable factors towards the 2026 Southeast Asian U19 Championship and the 2027 AFC U20 Championship qualifiers.
