Athlete Nguyen Tien Trong of the Vietnam Athletics Team has made a short video on social networks Tiktok and Facebook sharing about the regimes for athletes.
Tien Trong said: "Currently, the salary, allowance, bonus and insurance levels for national team athletes have been specifically regulated. In the near future, if this level is raised, athletes will be very excited.
In the analysis, Tien Trong affirmed that in reality, each athlete who is focused on the national team has been arranged a place to live and practice, so they do not face the pressure of finding a house to rent like those in other professions.
The Cao Bang Athletics Team only registered three athletes to compete in the 2025 National Athletics Championship. Coach Luc Van Liem expressed that if the new regimes are improved, many athletes in Cao Bang will be more motivated to wholeheartedly devote themselves to the profession to develop their achievements.
Coach Dao Xuan Hung (Bac Ninh team) said: "Athletics is a sport with its own characteristics. This subject requires a huge investment in nutrition for athletes. I think it is very appropriate to increase the nutritional allowance.
Decree 152/2018/ND-CP dated November 7, 2018 of the Government regulating a number of regimes for coaches and athletes during training and competition has stipulated that the salary for national team players (according to the probationary date) is 270,000 VND/person/day (more than 7 million VND/month). The national youth team player has a salary of 215,000 VND/person/day (more than 5.5 million VND/month).
According to the proposal in the Draft Decree to replace Decree No. 152/2018/ND-CP dated November 7, 2018 of the Government, the new salary level for a national team player is expected to be 540,000 VND/day (more than 14 million VND/month); the salary for a national youth team athlete is 430,000 VND/day (more than 11 million VND/month) and a local athlete will receive a salary of 360,000 VND/day (more than 9.3 million VND/month).
