Athlete Nguyen Trung Cuong continued to win the 5,000m event to win the second gold medal at the 2025 National Athletics Championship.

Athlete Nguyen Trung Cuong won the gold medal for the 5,000m distance in the early morning competition on August 10 at Hoa Xuan Stadium (Da Nang) of the 2025 National Athletics Championship.

The final round gathered 26 athletes. Nguyen Trung Cuong (Ha Tinh) had a best time of 14 minutes 43.7 seconds, winning the gold medal. This is Trung Cuong's second individual gold medal at this year's tournament.

Previously, this player won the 3,000m hurdles event. Currently, Nguyen Trung Cuong is a key player prepared by the Vietnam Athletics Team to compete in the 33rd SEA Games.

In the men's 5,000m event, second place was won by Le Tien Long (Ha Tinh) with a time of 14 minutes 45.7 seconds and third place was won by Mai Quy Phong (Quang Tri) with a time of 14 minutes 48.5 seconds.

On the same morning, female speeders competed for medals in the 4x100m relay final. The Army team had athletes Nguyen Thi Hong Van, Hoang Du Y, Quach Thi Hong Thuy, Bui Thi Nguyen who excellently won first with a time of 45 seconds 07, winning the gold medal. The Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City teams hold second and third place positions.

In the afternoon, the finals of attractive events such as men's long jump, men's 4x400m, women's 4x400m, men's 4x100m, men's 110m hurdles, women's 100m hurdles and women's 1,500m will take place. The women's 1,500m distance will have the participation of athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh.
