VFF representatives attending the AFC Awards Riyadh 2025, taking place in the capital Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) were Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan - AFC Standing Member, VFF President; Mr. Nguyen Van Phu - AFC Medicine Committee Member, VFF General Secretary.
According to the official nomination list announced by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), VFF, together with the Chinese Football Association (CFA) and the Thai Football Association (FAT), are the 3 representatives honored in the top 3 categories of the member federation of the year - Diamond (Diamond).
This is one of the most important and prestigious categories of the AFC Annual Awards, to honor federations that have made outstanding contributions to the common development of Asian football.
In the Diamond category, AFC recognized Federations with large-scale activities, professional competition systems, youth training networks and a strong community football movement, along with the effective implementation of support projects and programs of AFC and FIFA.
2025 marks many outstanding activities of VFF, including the successful organization of national tournaments at youth, professional, futsal and women's football levels; effectively implementing international cooperation projects such as "Community football in Vietnam (FFAV)", coaching and referee training programs and developing school football.
The national teams also achieved many encouraging results in regional and continental competitions, contributing to affirming the position of Vietnamese football in the AFC system.
In recent times, VFF has also implemented many practical social responsibility programs, closely following the AFC's orientation, thereby spreading the humanistic values of football, promoting gender equality, educating life skills and contributing to the development of the community.
The 2025 AFC Awards Riyadh brings together stars, coaches, referees and typical organizations of Asian football. The event marked the return of this prestigious award after a hiatus due to the pandemic, and affirmed AFC's efforts to honor and spread the positive values of continental football.
VFF's participation in the group of 3 best member federations in Asia is a testament to the right direction in the national football development strategy, while affirming Vietnam's position, prestige and increasingly large role in the common home of Asian football.
