Head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet affirmed that the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team is a collective. He builds expertise on all players in high form without depending on any individual athlete. This is clearly seen through each match that the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team has competed in the recent AVC Nations Cup 2025 and at the VTV Cup 2025 at the present time. The coaching staff of the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team has brought players to the field through many matches to enhance the feeling of competition.
It is clear that coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet still wants to find a player who plays well in the main striker position. He once informed that this season, the team is having difficulties due to player Tran Tu Linh's injury. The coaching staff has called up 5 players to this position to have the best preparation. The top requirement is still that the main striker must be comprehensive.
The Vietnam women's volleyball team is training main attackers including Nguyen Thi Uyen, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Thi Phuong, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, Dang Thi Hong. In particular, hitter Dang Thi Hong was given the opportunity to participate in the Vietnam Youth Women's Volleyball Team to improve her skills. The remaining players are in the squad for the AVC Nations Cup 2025 and VTV Cup 2025.
When discussing at the recent AVC Nations Cup 2025, striker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy once affirmed that she still has a weakness in terms of physical strength. "When the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team is supplemented with foreign fitness experts, I will have more opportunities to improve my fitness. I will try to improve my physical strength to supplement my expertise" - Thanh Thuy expressed.
In current matches of the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet often uses Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and Nguyen Thi Uyen in 2 main striker positions. Thus, they are Mr. Kiet's key choice to operate the competition strategy in 2025.
Bich Tuyen is still a scorer
According to statistics released by the Vietnam Volleyball Federation at the AVC Nations Cup 2025 in Dong Anh (Hanoi), player Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen was the top scorer for the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team (91 points). After Bich Tuyen, there are Tran Thi Thanh Thuy (67 points), Nguyen Thi Uyen (46 points), Vi Thi Nhu Quynh (36 points), Nguyen Thi Phuong (18 points).
Bich Tuyen plays as an opposite setter, not a main striker. In the past, the coaching staff had experimented with her in the main striker position. However, the actual competition shows that Bich Tuyen did not achieve the above position effectively and was only most suitable if she played against her high school.
The main striker players of the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team are the ones holding the main position in their teams in domestic tournaments. After VTV Cup 2025, in August 2025, the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team will continue to participate in 2 important matches at the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's International Volleyball Tournament (SEA V.League 2025) and we will have the opportunity to compete with the Thai Women's Volleyball Team in the tournament. This real opponent will help Mr. Kiet and the coaching staff adjust if they are not successful. We still have enough time to prepare professionally towards attending the 33rd SEA Games.
