On December 9, after 4 days of exciting competition (December 6-9), the closing ceremony of the 2024 Asian Police Taekwondo Open took place at the Sports Palace - Quang Ninh Provincial Sports Complex.
This year's tournament attracted about 2,000 athletes from 19 countries and territories, bringing eye-catching competitions with powerful martial arts and combat.
The performances of athletes from Vietnam, Korea, Indonesia, Cambodia... were considered the most outstanding.
With the slogan “Police Power! Taekwondo Police Protecting the Peace of Global Citizens”, the tournament is not only a sports playground but also conveys a strong message about the role of the police force in ensuring security and protecting world peace.
As a result of the tournament, the Vietnam People's Public Security Sports Association excellently won first place overall with 37 Gold Medals, 36 Silver Medals and 33 Bronze Medals.
The Indonesian delegation won second place with 7 Gold Medals, 6 Silver Medals, 4 Bronze Medals; the Cambodian delegation ranked third with 4 Gold Medals, 2 Silver Medals and 1 Bronze Medal.
In the civil extension category, Korean teams dominated: Jeong Jeom University won first place, Shinhan University won second place, and Daekyung University ranked third.
With a noble spirit of competition and dedication, the athletes have contributed to promoting exchange and solidarity between countries and promoting the image of Vietnam to international friends.
