On the evening of August 7, the opening ceremony of the 2025 World Games was held by host China in Chengdu city. The opening ceremony of the Congress took place in an exciting atmosphere with many unique contents demonstrating the youthfulness and modernity of the people and country of China.

At the opening ceremony of the 2025 World Games, Ms. Kirsty Coventry, President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) made a short video conveying messages to the coaches and athletes attending and believing that the Congress will be successfully held.
The 2025 World Games will take place from August 7 to August 17. The competition program of the Congress has 256 sets of medals in 34 official events.
Vietnam Sports sent 25 athletes from 7 sports: iron billiards, wushu, kickboxing, muay, women's beach tennis, and aerobic exercise to participate in the 2025 World Games. On the first day of August 7, the Vietnam women's beach hurling team played the opening match but lost 0-2 to the Denmark women's team.
Vietnam will not establish a sports delegation to participate in the 2025 World Games. Each team will go to China according to its own competition schedule. The goal of Vietnamese sports is to strive for the best results at the Congress.
Three years ago, we won two gold medals at the 2022 World Games held in the US. Athletes Duong Thuy Vi (wushu) and Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat (muay) are the gold medallists of the 2022 World Games and will continue to compete in the 2025 World Games.
