After names like Park Hang-seo, Hoang Anh Tuan and even the MV Bac Bling that have made Bac Ninh a "hot" keyword in recent times, it is the turn of the Football Academy construction project to continue to attract interest in this locality. In terms of feelings, this move is the next affirmation of Bac Ninh football's aspiration to rise. However, it is also necessary to soon raise the issue of effectiveness.
First of all, it is necessary to look back at the stories of academies that have been established and operated in the past, how effective are they? Up to this point, can we mention how many training academies are considered truly effective - providing players for large centers, for clubs and further becoming national players? There are really few.
Because in fact, most of the "projects" of training in Vietnamese football are only the most simple, with little connection through each U level until breaking through to the first team. Hoang Anh Gia Lai used to do this well, but the proportion of breakthrough factors in the first team is getting less and less. And to be promoted to the national team is even less.
Some people say that setting up a youth training academy is simpler than operating a professional club, however, in reality, it is a complex task, with a huge amount of work. Here, it is a true academy, not built for any purpose other than football.
Of course, it is still possible to choose the training option until a certain age and then "transfer" it to centers and clubs, but even that also has a certain impact on players - such as not maintaining a training philosophy, leading to style changes...
Therefore, to build and develop a football academy effectively and sustainably, it is necessary to draw experience from previous units, have financial resources to ensure large, long-term investment, develop modern infrastructure, have advanced training programs, combine with school football, community football, choose appropriate models, socialize, public-private partnerships with clubs, federations, localities and even international organizations.
